Week 13: Expressions

This week Tania took Elijah in for his 3 month checkup.  He was such a good little sport when he was getting weighed and measured.  His final height came out to 24 ½ in. tall, which is in the 80^th percentile. His weight is at a whopping 13 lbs 11oz, which is also in the 80^th percentile. This leaves us with the conclusion that EJ is perfectly healthy and is growing proportionately.

Quick story from the pediatrician’s office:
When the Doctor came in to the room to check Elijah she was stretching his neck and turning his head, then she grabbed his legs and started pressing them against his abdomen and was really turning his every which way! As she was doing this Elijah looked at her gave her, what we like to call "sad face".  This is when he is on the verge of crying.  His eyes get a little watery and red, then his little chin starts to squish up and his lower lip begins to protrude causing a small frown. At that point Tania started talking to him, reassuring that everything was ok. A few minutes later the Doctor continued to probe at him and he did his sad guy look again. Again Tania soothed him and he was fine, to which the Doctor said she had never seen a baby that young be so expressive! It’s true, our little guy really does let us know so much about him just by his facial expression. To that, we give you our very own, EXPRESSION SHEET!
