Weel 11: First Word!

Believe it or not, this morning Elijah said "hello" to me!
It was a typical morning. He woke up at 8 am sharp and fed. Jared changed his diaper and went into the living room to play with him before heading off to work (during which I take advantage of a few extra z's). Everyday we talk to our little man by saying hello, good morning, how are you, hi, we love you, etc. .. we always encourage him to speak by accentuating our words and showing him how our lips move. It's always been fun to see him mimic us and then smile. He really is fun to hang out with. Well, this morning right before Jared left to work him and Joaquin came into the room to wake me up. I placed Joaquin on my tummy and smiled. As I did that he clearly said "hello"! Both Jared and I looked at each other in amazement! I quickly looked back at him and said hello back, he smiled and continued to baby talk and so went our routine conversation :)
This past week Elijah's been sitting up more! Yeepee. We got a bumbo from a friend and we're hoping that it will help strengthen Elijah's back :)

He's also discovered MIRRORS! It's been fun because we'll sit him facing a mirror and occasionally he will smile at his reflection which in turn causes him to have bigger and longer smiles.
AND he's starting to LAUGH! We've been playing peek-a-boo, rubbing his tummy, making funny faces,  and silly noises and we have finally gotten him to giggle this week. It's been so fun and rewarding! Can't wait for him to really burst out in laughter.
Unfortunately, he still dislikes his car seat. Being in a car seat = fussy baby. Fortunately, he loves taking walks with mom and dad!
Elijah continues to enjoy tummy time as well!

To end, he continues to sleep peacefully and wonderfully. He is enjoying his tight burrito swaddles. We love our little guy and are having fun seeing him grow every single day!
