Week 25

This was a special weekend of celebration.  Tania Brunner is turning the BIG 27....whoa!  Most of the week was chill like any other, going to the pool a few times a week between work hours and nap times.  In preparation for our little birthday bash, on Friday Elijah and I walked down the street to the local party supply store to pick up some goodies for Tania's party.  Since it is our goal to make sure Tania feels extra special on her birthday I decided to throw a little surprise party.  I sent out online invitations to a few of our close friends.  The theme was "Go Green" (not to mention it is her favorite color).  Tania has really come to love and appreciate the hippieness that is Austin Texas so I thought it would only be appropriate.  Elijah & I love you Tania Brunner.  Happy Birthday!

Come the afternoon of the big day I made Tania take Eli on an afternoon walk.  While she was out I rushed like a mad man to decorate the house with green goodies, bake a quadruple layer cake, bake brownies & clean up before Tania and guests arrive.  It was really a lot of fun.

We had friends and their kids dressed with green, green leis, green candies, green bubbles, green balloons, green decorations about the apartment, green drinks, green silverware and even some green deserts.

All of the other kids wanted a turn at holding EJ...

....especially Bruce!

When the party was said and done Tania had expressed her appreciation for the work that we had put into making sure she felt special on her special day.  The night was still young so after putting Elijah down for bed we relaxed with a nice chick flick of Tania's choice topped with more deserts.
